Iowa’s secret settlements to be discussed in closed meetings

Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds used the word “transparent” or “transparency” five times in answering questions about secret settlements made to former government employees. She told reporters the administration would appoint a work group to “perform a comprehensive review of the process.” Less than 24 hours later, Jimmy Centers, spokesman for Gov. Terry Branstad, said the work group will meet behind closed doors.
