Lyle Muller/IowaWatch

Students meet with prospective employers at an Iowa State University Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication job fair on Feb.15, 2017.

This year’s pending college graduates will enter a relatively flat job market for the fourth straight year, the National Association of College and Employers reported last fall.

With that projection serving as the backdrop students who expect to graduate from college this year are on their job hunts, attending job fairs and lining up internships.

IowaWatch has reported in the past about how college debt and not having enough internship experience can hamper job hunts fresh out of college. It also has reported about students who graduate from Iowa colleges and universities but chose to take their first job outside of Iowa, and difficulty finding a job in certain professions.

This IowaWatch Connection report draws on that reporting and focuses on new trends and the college seniors seeking jobs this year.
